We are pleased to offer this seventh issue of Pimatisiwin — and the first issue published exclusively on-line at www..pimatisiwin.com. With Volume 4, Issue 1, Pimatisiwin has a special focus on student papers, an idea that arose from the Fourth Annual Gathering of Graduate Students in Aboriginal Health Research: Listening to the Voices that was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in June of 2004. The articles include several of the papers from that conference, as well some received later through a subsequent call for papers. The articles reflect the broad scope of the work of graduate students in the area of Aboriginal health and the important contributions they make to the well-being of Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities. The papers included in this issue have gone through the usual extensive peer review process, each examined by an appropriate academic and community person. We would like to thank our guest editor, Angeline Letendre for her hard work in organizing the conference, advocating for the publication of a student issue and gathering the papers for review. As with the conference, Aboriginal student leadership has been an integral part of this publication. We hope that you find this issue of Pimatisiwin informative and enjoyable. Please also forward the webpage to all of your colleagues!

Sincerely,

Patti LaBoucane-Benson Nancy Gibson
