American Indians and Aboriginal Peoples of Canada Health Policy Abstract American Indians and Aboriginal peoples in Canada have struggled through similar historical experiences, which were formulated to assimilate or eradicate them from the “new world.” Socio-political events have had far-reaching effects on Indigenous physical and mental health.
