In June 2019, a second special edition of the Journal of indigenous Wellbeing: Te Mauri – Pimatisiwin centered around digital and data sovereignty for Indigenous people will be released. The Editorial Team of the Journal strongly encouraged all indigenous researchers and communities to share the work they are doing in this area. The use of data by businesses, organisations, and governments is currently a huge area of exploration and equally an important area of debate. Included among the opportunities this special edition provides is an avenue for indigenous people to share their perspective, to highlight areas needing to be addressed, and examples of how indigenous people can use data for the benefit of their people.
The Journal of Indigenous Wellbeing is a peer-reviewed, open-access, scholarly online journal that shares multi-disciplinary indigenous knowledge and research experience amongst indigenous health professionals, leaders, researchers, and community members.
