Editorial – An Announcement!
We are pleased to offer this 11th issue of Pimatisiwin: A Journal of Indigenous and Aboriginal Community Health. The articles in Volume 6, Number 1, are a wonderful representation of the scope and breadth of the community-based research being conducted in Aboriginal communities. We hope that you find the papers thought provoking; they are published here with the goal of in-forming community health practices in Indigenous and Aboriginal communities internationally.
We are also delighted to announce that Pimatisiwin is now published by Native Counselling Services of Alberta, in partnership with the Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal Health in Australia ( http://www.crcah.org. au/ ), Papa Ola Lokahi in Hawaii ( http://www.papaolalokahi.org/ ) and the International Indigenous Council for Healing Our Spirit Worldwide (follow the links at www.hosw.com ). We are very pleased with this expansion as it will significantly increase the scope of the journal, and assist us in achieving our mission of providing information that is relevant and accessible to community people, health professionals, and academics engaged in Aboriginal community health research.
